Produce a great tasting coffee “From Farm to Cup” and meet business and community needs.

We believe that providing good employment and a good work place benefits everyone. What Africa needs is economic development, not more aid. Aid often allows governments to escape their responsibilities, skews local economics and does not allow people to achieve their full sense of self-worth and achievement. Good employment allows people to provide for their families, reach their full potential, and improves self-esteem. We consistently strive to achieve this in both Africa where our coffee is grown, and in Canada, where it is roasted, distributed and promoted.

We believe that communities are not just places where we live and do business but an integral part of what makes us who we are.

And, we are going to have a good time doing this!

WHERE WE GROW OUR COFFEE

Bordered by Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa, Zimbabwe is a land locked country located in Southern Africa.  It has a lovely temperate climate with average temperatures around 30c in summer and 18c in winter.  Zimbabwe is home to some of Africa’s largest wildlife reserves, Victoria Falls (which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World) and Lake Kariba, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes.

‘FROM FARM TO CUP’ IS THE FOUNDATION OF OUR COFFEE – BECAUSE WE ROAST & DISTRIBUTE THE COFFEE WE GROW.

Deep in the heart of East Africa’s beautiful Highlands, we grow our coffee plants on temperate slopes in rich red soils – in harmony with nature, encouraging ethical and sustainable practices.

“Ashanti coffee is grown on our own farm. We import it ourselves and hand-roast it fresh daily at our Café/Roastery in Thornbury, Ontario, giving us control from start to finished product. The result is a brilliant cup of coffee.” David & Amy Wilding-Davies, Ashanti Owners, Award-winning Coffee Farmers
